Bloomsburg University has 164 student-athletes recognized as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athletes for the 2018-19 academic year
A total of 164 Bloomsburg University student-athletes have been recognized as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athletes for the 2018-19 academic year the league announced on Tuesday afternoon. The 164 Huskies join a PSAC-record 3,117 student-athletes from the league's 17 institutions being named to the list. In order to earn PSAC Scholar-Athlete recognition, each student-athlete must have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.25 throughout the year. The field hockey team led all of Bloomsburg's squads with 20 selections. Women's soccer added 19 with women's lacrosse following right behind with 17. Women's cross country and track & field (15), softball (10), and women's volleyball (10) also finished in double figures among female sports. On the men's side, football led the way with 13 scholar-athletes while cross country / track & field and men's soccer added nine apiece. Kutztown University Announces Spring 2019 Degree Recipients
Kutztown University has conferred degrees for nearly 1,300 students for the Spring 2019 semester. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish the requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The following students have been awarded degrees following the spring 2019 semester. The cumulative grade point average necessary for honors distinction is: with honor (cum laude) 3.40; with high honor (magna cum laude) 3.60 and with highest honor (summa cum laude) 3.80. ESU to Graduate 1,187 Students at Three Commencement Exercises
A total of 1,187 students will receive degrees from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at separate commencement exercises for undergraduate and graduate students on May 10 and May 11. ESU will hold three graduation ceremonies: one for graduate students on Friday, May 10 at 6:45 p.m. and two ceremonies for undergraduate students on Saturday, May 11. The undergraduate ceremonies will take place at 8:45 a.m. (College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education) and at 1:15 p.m. (College of Business and Management and College of Health Sciences). All three ceremonies will be held in Koehler Fieldhouse. A total of 995 bachelor's degrees, 188 master's degrees and four doctoral degrees will be awarded.

The winner will represent NCC at a valley-wide collegiate business pitch competition on April 25 at Ben Franklin Tech Ventures in Bethlehem.

Wilkes University Students Present Research at Pi Sigma Alpha National Student Research Conference
Wilkes University students Matthew Finnegan and Joshua Bradley presented research papers during the Pi Sigma Alpha National Student Research Conference. The event took place Feb. 15-17 at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Pi Sigma Alpha is the national political science honor society. Finnegan is a junior political science and international studies major. His paper was entitled "Wind Turbine Construction Projects and Their Effects on Tourism." Bradley is a junior political science and international studies major. His paper was entitled "The Effect of Energy Trade Dependency on Foreign Policy." The conference provides a platform for Pi Sigma Alpha members to present their research findings in a professional setting with opportunity for engagement with peers. Finnegan and Bradley are research assistants with assistant professor of political science Andreea Maierean.

Theatre Production
The BU Players of Bloomsburg University will be performing "Good Kids" from Feb.27 through March 3 at the Alvina Krause Theatre in Bloomsburg. The production will be directed by Dr. Carrie Winship. Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30pm, Sunday at 3:00pm. All performances at the Alvina Krause Theatre, 226 Center St, in Downtown Bloomsburg. Tickets are Free to BU Students with ID, $6 for Adults, $4 for Students/Seniors. Tickets available in advance at the Haas Center for the Arts Box Office on the campus of Bloomsburg University or at the door starting one hour before curtain. About the Play: GOOD KIDS explores how a sexual assault at a high school party, documented and distributed on social media, shocks the student community and evokes surprisingly varied responses. The recollections and the rumors of the incident incite conflict between the "good kids" in the school community.
